ⒸCHIKASHI SUZUKI
After completing the master’s program at the Department of Architecture in Tokyo University of the Arts, Ishigami worked at Kazuyo Sejima & Associates before establishing junya.ishigami+associates in 2004.
His major works include the Kanagawa Institute of Technology KAIT Workshop / KAIT Plaza, the Park Groot Vijversburg Visitor Center, Water Garden, the Serpentine Pavilion 2019, House & Restaurant, and the Zaishui Art Museum.
Major awards include the the Prize of AIJ (Architectural Institute of Japan) 2009, the Golden Lion for the best project at the 12th Biennale di Venezia International Exhibition of Architecture, the Mainichi Design Award (2010), the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology’s Art Encouragement Prize for New Artists (Fine Arts Category), the OBEL Award, the Austrian Frederick Kiesler Prize for Architecture and the Arts (2024), and the AIJ Prize (2024).
