Born in Fukuoka Prefecture in 1972. Architect. Principal of Hideyuki Nakayama Architecture. Professor at the Department of Architecture, Faculty of Fine Arts, Tokyo University of the Arts. After earning his master’s degree from Tokyo University of the Arts in 2000, he joined Toyo Ito & Associates, Architects, and founded Hideyuki Nakayama Architecture in 2007.
Major works include Stone Island’s Stone, Curves and Chords, and Mitosaya Botanical Distillery. He has designed a wide range of building types, including breweries, restaurants, retail spaces, public facilities, offices, and residences. His major awards include the Kajima Prize at the SD Review 2004, and the Excellence Award at the 17th Environmental and Equipment Design Awards, and the Good Design Gold Award.
