KOKI AKIYOSHI / VUILD

Born in Osaka Prefecture in 1988. After graduating from the Department of Architecture, Faculty of Engineering, Shibaura Institute of Technology, he studied digital fabrication within the X-Design program at the Graduate School of Media and Governance at Keio University. In 2017, he founded the architecture tech startup VUILD, aiming to democratize architecture. His work spans a wide range of design fields, from physical objects to experiential design, including digital fabrication and social design. Major awards include the Gold Medal at the Under 35 Architects Exhibition (2019), the Good Design Gold Award (2020), the Grand Prize at the Archi-Neering Design Award (2022, 2024), and the Grand Prize at the Japan Architecture Award—Architecture Awards for Everyone (2024). Major publications include Meta-Architect – Architecture for the Next Generation (speelplaats press, 2022 – Japanese) and The Demolition of the Architect (VUILD BOOKS, 2022 – Japanese).
